STATE MEETING 2009

State Meeting will be held the weekend of Judges Cup at Courthouse in Flowood. Date and time will follow when I know the schedule of the meet. There will be a SAC meeting prior to the state meeting as well. Date and time - TBA.

State Administrative Committee (SAC)

Speaking of SAC, a new face is on the committee. Sandy Lay was nominated to the position of secretary. I contacted Deb Kornegay to instruct me on the procedure for an SAC election. I then followed her procedure. After requesting resumes’ from both Mabel Sims (current secretary) and Sandy so an election could be conducted, Mabel contacted me and decided to resign from the SAC. Mabel’s resignation is as follows:

Dear MSUSAG Administrative Committee & Membership,

Please accept this as my letter of resignation & request for withdrawal of my name from the ballot for the position of MSUSAG secretary for the upcoming year. After receiving an email from Nancy requesting my resume due to the fact that Sandy Lay had also been nominated for the position of secretary, I made the decision to withdraw my name from the ballot. It has been a difficult past year with the responsibility of caring for my elderly mother. She has suffered a heart attack, had hip replacement surgery, and, most recently, an emergency gall bladder removal within the last 6 months. I have enjoyed and am honored to have served the state as secretary for many years. I appreciate each of you and will continue to support MSUSAG wholeheartedly!

Sincerely,
Mabel W. Sims

Words cannot express the appreciation I have for Mabel. Mabel has and will continue to be an integral part of MS USAG and our lives. And, Jim, you are such a delight and welcomed addition to the gymnastics family.

Also, it is with deep regret that Eddie Jenkins rendered his resignation as Sergeant at Arms at the June meeting. Eddie's recent promotion requires him to travel extensively and often involves weekend duties. As SACC, I appointed Eddie to oversee the SAC meetings. It is with heartfelt thanks to Eddie for his time, knowledge, and energy that he has given to MS USAG.

COMPETION FEES

Athlete competition fees are due September 15, 2009. Register on-line, except for you Aubrey. You are excused.

QUICK FIX & CALENDAR

I am emailing the Quick Fix card in a PDF format. I will have hard copies, as well, at the state meeting. AND, I will have the calendar at the state meeting. IF, you cannot wait until the meeting, Teri, for those who request, I will mail a copy to your gym.

UPCOMING YEAR

As usual, MS USAG has a busy year ahead. In April 2010, we are hosting Level 7/8 Regionals in Tupelo. This is a great, fun meet. Please plan to volunteer your time and bring your gymnasts to enjoy great gymnastics. Don't forget you earn cruise points for volunteering

June 5-10, 2010 – Cruise

The deposit has been made. It is official. An email has been sent to all the gyms and judges listing those that we have as eligible to participate free. Paid participation for the cruise is, of course, welcomed. However, I need to know asap who would like to attend and the deposit would have to be made. Please see details below:
